Heli-skiing and heli-boarding in the Mt Hutt Range and the Black Hills will start operating from Saturday 2nd August. To kick off the 2008 season Mt Hutt Helicopters will be opening the doors of the heli-hut located in the car park of the Mt Hutt Ski Area.

Two packages are available; $155 per person for 1 run on the North Peak which is located Northwest of the ski field.  This is a large ungroomed basin offering 800 vertical meters of skiing and riding – IT’S THE MOST AFFORDABLE HELI-SKIING ON OFFER!!!!!!   The other Backcountry package is a 3 run option to explore the Black Hills or the Taylor Range for $465.  This offers some fantastic terrain of wide open Alpine bowls, long runs with great snow conditions. A trip of a life time to be shared with friends!

The storm on Thursday last week was right on cue adding to an already good base, giving us over 1.5 meters of snow with more predicted throughout the week.  The phones have been ringing red since the snow fell with eager skiers and boarders itching to get their tracks into the newly fallen snow.

A reminder that those who party at Sunday Sessions at the Brown Pub on a Sunday night can collect a discount card for the heli-ski trips.
