News From The Chill Office
Another beautiful day at all of our ski fields today as we enjoy a small area of high pressure hanging around till some point tomorrow. All 11 fields are enjoying brilliant conditions and excellent numbers coming through to all the fields on a daily basis.
The winter is well and truly set up now, get out this weekend and enjoy the fresh snow, we will be! If you've been holding off buying a pass, the snow is here, get online, book your pass, and go skiing! Mountain info as below....

Temple Basin - A great weekend had by all at the Fire & Ice weekend with 160 people turning up for the weekend. They have an awesome base of 160cm on top, so well worht a visit.
Mt Cheeseman - Great conditions at Cheeseman with 35cm of fresh snow on the 5th August.
Craigieburn - Some fresh lines still to be had on the mountain, with a nice steady temperature of -2 degrees.
Mt Olympus - Proclaimed as the 'playground of the gods' its certainly living up to its billing, with 215cm base and a mixture of powder and chowder, its great fun up there.
Porters - According to Uli, its epic! Ewen was there on Tuesday and commented 'EPIC'! The best snow ever experienced is what others have said, so if you haven't been, nows the time to visit.
Broken River - Powder, Powder, Powder is the word from the BR crew, with everything open and night skiing available.
Mt Lyford - They have hit the mighty 3m mark and with more to come, they might be skiing at Lyford till 2009 at this rate!!
Hanmer Springs - More fresh Powder over the last couple of days with great conditions for the forth coming Bacardi cup fun and games.
Fox Peak - Open during the weekend, check snow reports for status this weekend.
Mt Dobson - Heaps of new snow (45cm) on top of already great conditions. Great base, new powder, awesome conditions.
Roundhill - Great conditions with the park looking awesome this year.... celebrate the 80s this weekend. Weather leading into the weekend
Below is the latest call from the Met Service for this weeks play time....
Thu 7th Aug
Fine with morning frosts and not much wind. A colder southwest change overnight brings some cloud.
Fri 8th Aug
Occasional rain, with snow developing down to 400 metres. Cold southerlies developing.
Sat 9th Aug
Occasional showers, with snow likely above 400 metres. Southerlies becoming strong for a time.
Broken River
Tele-markers will be in residence at Broken River this weekend with R & R Sport. Telemark Demo gear from R & R Sport and Black Diamond will be available to try all weekend. Fun events with R & R sponsored prizes on Saturday. Coaching clinics on Sunday - 2 hours of relatively informal morning instruction, 2 hours of afternoon cruising with an instructor after lunch - a great way to improve your skiing. Registration 10-11am Saturday at Palmer Lodge.
Roundhill 80's Fever
80s weekend...not to be missed, brought forward slightly this year in good timing with the new snow. Dust off your favourite piece of ugli-ness, boot up and swing the hips down the hill. Great fun to be had!
